In the next few paragraphs well be drilling down on what choices are available and how to ensure youll get a great fitted shirt.
The Parts Of Mens Custom Dress Shirts: The general components of a shirt are: 1. The collar, 2. The cuffs and 3.
The material. Well swiftly go through many of these. If youd like a visual self-help guide to this please go through the design process of ShirtsMyWay.com. They have the most options online for custom dress shirts.
The Collar.
The collar is amongst the most essential pieces of the shirt. There are actually a number of selections depending on your preferences. The general tip at this point is to pick out a collar that fits your face.
If you have a slender face opt for a broad angle collar such as the cutaway collar. In case you have a round face go with a more narrow cut, such as the long point or classic collar. The cuffs will also be based upon what youre searching for. Should you prefer a more formal shirt go with French cuffs.
Two buttons already looks bold and does make a statement, but recently I stumbled upon this Japanese tailor who makes three button collars (you can also design your own 3 button collared custom dress shirts at ShirtsMyWay.com).
I know I know, its not like it is completely out of this world, but the way they had done this makes it look really good. Great way to make an extra statement. Read what collars would suit you in our free FREE Mens Button Down Dress Shirt Guide.
The picture clearly shows that the inside collar contrast fabric is too bold, but it is the bold 3 button collar that should be emphasized. Dont forget that this is NOT a shirt collar for men with short necks (they will look even shorter with this shirt collar). Regards, Tobias Jeff Collins, Professional Haberdasher on June 24th, 2008 7:45 pm It looks a little funny in the picture with the top button out of alignment.
The houndstooth on the inside of the collar looks nice. I have one shirt with a two button collar and it is a pretty cool look for a casual shirt. Three seems a bit over the top, sort of like the razor with 5 blades for a shave so close you have to regrow your epidermis.
I think what is really throwing me off in this picture is the fact that they are making a casual shirt out of a textured white broadcloth shirt. It seems a bit out of place. I would have to reserve final judgment for a shirt with color and perhaps a check pattern to get the full effect.
